Do you prepare tax returns?
No. Avens + Ledger does not prepare tax returns, but we keep tax considerations in mind when maintaining your books and preparing your financial statements. Our tax background means we understand the language and information tax professionals need, allowing us to communicate effectively with your tax preparer when questions arise. We can also provide referrals to tax professionals if you need one.
What accounting software do you work with?
QuickBooks Online is our preferred accounting platform. It allows us to maintain your books efficiently, provide consistent monthly reporting, and collaborate with you and your other financial professionals.
What if my books are behind or need cleanup?
That's not a problem. We take on bookkeeping cleanups ranging from correcting specific issues to books that are significantly behind. After reviewing your books, we'll recommend the appropriate cleanup period based on what will provide meaningful benefit to your business.
Do you handle payroll?
We don't process payroll, but we reconcile payroll activity recorded in your books. We can work with reports from your existing payroll provider to make sure payroll is properly reflected in your financial statements.
Do you handle accounts payable and accounts receivable?
We reconcile accounts payable and accounts receivable and provide aging reports as part of the appropriate service. We don't provide day-to-day collections or bill-payment services.

We're generally not the right fit for businesses looking to outsource daily accounting operations or ongoing tax compliance such as sales tax or income tax filings.
